[ SENT VIA FIRST CLASS MAIL ] Sidney August Cammeresi, IV 605 East White Street #D-37 Champaign, IL 61820 10 March 2002 Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs University of Illinois 601 East John Street Champaign, IL 61820 Dear Madame: Reference my Freedom of Information Act request submitted to your Office by way of my letter of this 8 March. On 10 March at approximately 2.31 a.m. and 2.35 a.m. I received two telephone calls which I later learnt originated from the residence of Mr Joel Baise, the head of the Student Election Commission. The callers were loud, abusive, and threatening. They proceeded to describe, among other things, how they would (to quote from memory) `take [my] piece away from [me], shove it up [my] ass, and pull the trigger till it goes ``click''' as well as their opinion that I was `fucking with the wrong people.' Upon receipt of this information, I placed a telephone call to the Champaign Police Department. I later gave a statement to Officer Vogelzang (badge #7101) who then proceeded to the residence of Mr Baise and informed him (to the extent which was possible given the fact that he had been drinking and was heavily intoxicated) of the law regarding threats and harrassments made by wire. I expect that I do not have to say that I find this type of harassing, juvenile behaviour totally unacceptable. Whatever its purpose, I will deal with it by way of police and courts to the maximum extent permitted by law. I assume that these telephone calls placed from Mr Baise's residence do not constitute any sort or part of your Office's official response to my recent enquiry, and I patiently await the response that you will issue. Thank you in advance for any efforts you have already expended as well as any which you will expend in order to fulfill my request in a timely fashion. Sincerely, (signed) Sidney August Cammeresi, IV
