Dear Sidney:

I am writing to acknowledge that I have received your letter requesting
specific information from the SEC related to the 2002 student elections.  I
have communicated to the SEC advisors that all FOI requests are reviewed by
the Office of Public Affairs and to assure that your request has been
forwarded for review.  Since the SEC is appointed by Illinois Student
Government, I do not have any jurisdiction.

I  also have received your letter dated March 10, 2002 about the
threatening phone calls that you received on March 10 and your reporting
these to the Champaign Police.  I have asked William Riley, Dean of
Students, to look into this situation and determine if there has been a
violation of the Code of Policies and Regulations Applying to All Students.
