Steam is coming out of my ears —

Anyone affiliated with the University of Illinois will know what Banner is, the new end-all, be-all, shiny, spiffy integrated information system for the University that does everything slower and more painfully than ever before. As a data point, what used to take our payroll people two hours every pay period now takes nearly four times as long. That sucks, but oh well, the decision to go with the new system was made multiple years and multiple hundreds of millions of dollars ago, by detached-from-reality administrators, and it's not going to reverse, so what can you do?

From 16 January, the new payroll system is now paying people. According to people who don't use it, it's great, it's spiffy, it slices, it dices, but there is one tiny problem with it which I have found.

I DID NOT GET PAID.

His Majesty's Treasury, joined by HM Customs and Excise as well as The Crown Prosecutor will be launching an enquiry on Tuesday with a very little amount of patience.
